Examination of measuring instruments: verification, repair, maintenance and pattern approval

Examination of the following measuring instruments is carried out to approve the pattern and nominate them to the State Register of measuring instruments:
dosimeters, dosimetry systems, radiometers, radiometer systems, spectrometers, spectrometer systems, detection units and devices, radiation monitoring instruments and RMD monitors.

The Certificate of Compliance issued by Mendeleyev Research Institute for Metrology (VNIIM), St. Petersburg acknowledges safety of instruments and compliance of their characteristics with both requirements laid down by relevant normative documents and application requirements listed in the technical documents.

Certification of measuring instruments are arranged according to the system of GOST R State Standard for the purpose of establishing whether the following instruments satisfy requirements laid down by the appropriate radiation safety and application documentation:

  • medical diagnostic X-ray equipment
  • industrial gamma X-ray flaw detection equipment
  • X-ray diagnostic, radiography and radioscopy equipment
  • radioisotope units and devices
  • accelerator – flaw detectors and industrial accelerators
  • radiation processing units

State verification of standard and working measuring instruments is carried out for the whole range of relevant equipment:

  • Dosimeters (dosimetry systems) of x-ray (including pulse), gamma, beta, bremsstrahlung and neutron radiation
  • Radiometers (radiometer systems) of flux; flux density of alpha and beta particles, photons; radionuclide activity (specific, volume and surface)
  • Spectrometers (spectrometer systems) of alpha, beta, gamma and neutron radiation
  • Multifunction measuring instruments (dosimeters – radiometers, spectrometers – dosimeters, etc.)
  • Pedestrian and vehicle portal radiation monitors and monitors of fissionable materials
  • Radiation monitoring equipment
  • Detection units for dosimetry, radiometer and spectrometer systems
