Accreditation of laboratories of radiation monitoring

Accreditation System for Laboratories of Radiation Monitoring (LRM) was founded by the Gosstandart of Russia (Federal Agency for technical regulation and metrology) to recognize LRM qualified and authorized to carry out measurement of values characterizing sources and fields of ionizing radiation in different spheres including:

• Industrial products including foodstuffs, construction materials, scarp metal, timber, etc.,
• Environmental objects including air at ground level, surface and underground waters, vegetation, soils,
• Industrial, social and residential premises,
• Housebuilding sites (land allocation).

An accredited laboratory is entitled to issue official measurement protocols. Besides, admitted as a testing laboratory, it has the right to participate in certification of products.

STC RADEK Ltd. led by Mendeleyev Research Institute for Metrology (VNIIM) carries out accreditation for technical competence of the following laboratories in the Accreditation System for Laboratories of Radiation Monitoring (ASLRM):

• laboratory of radioecological monitoring,
• laboratory of radiation protection,
• laboratory of radiation control,
• laboratory of surface dosimetry of facilities of nuclear fuel cycle including nuclear power station,
• laboratory of radiation hygiene.
